Rev. Ronald I. Best
Ronald I. Best is a native of Lynchburg, South Carolina. He is the son of the late Elijah Kingston Best and Carolyn Johnson Best. Ron began his Christian journey at a young age and demonstrated his commitment to Christ by participating in various youth and teen church activities.

In June 1981, Ron graduated from Lee County public schools; subsequently, he transitioned to Columbia, South Carolina, and continued his education at Midlands Technical College. In 1983, he graduated from Midlands Technical College with honors and received an Associate Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Business Management. Ron has worked in the auto sales industry for the past 29 years and is currently employed with Jim Hudson Lexus of Columbia as a Sales Consultant. He has been awarded the State of South Carolina’s Best of the Best Sales Consultant Award for the years 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. Ron is a creative man with foresight and insight. By the grace of God, these attributes have contributed to his success as an entrepreneur. He and his wife Sandra are the owners of AshlyeKingston Jewelry & Accessory Boutique in Irmo, SC.

Over the past 34 years, Ron has served at Brookland Baptist Church in various ministry capacities. His commitment to serving led him to work as a Cub Scout leader, Manhood Training Instructor, Budget and Finance team member, and assistant Sunday School teacher. Ron developed a love and passion for the word of God as he studied in preparation for teaching Sunday School. Each experience enriched his relationship with God and strengthened his leadership skills and his commitment to the unadulterated word of God.
As a result of Ron’s love for Christ, the people of God, and his dedication to build God’s earthly Kingdom, he was invited to serve on the Trustee Ministry where he served for 7 years as Vice Chairman. His continued spiritual growth and service of excellence in diverse areas of the ministry resulted in his appointment to the Deacon’s Ministry; he was ordained as a Deacon on May 21, 1995. Ron’s love for music and singing was reflected through his participation with the Charles B. Jackson Singers, Brookland Sanctuary Choir, Brookland Male Chorus, and the Voices of Faith. His leadership skills were again demonstrated during his 12-year tenure as president of the Charles B. Jackson Singers and as president of the Brookland Baptist Youth Choir for 4 years.

Ron’s leadership skills and willingness to serve extend to the community at large. He has served as a board member of The Brookland Foundation, a member of the Harbison West School Improvement Council, and a liaison between Brookland Baptist Church and the Brookland Federal Credit Union.

Ron was licensed to preach the Gospel on February 8, 2008, and was ordained as a “Minister of The Gospel” on September 12, 2010, under the spiritual covering of Brookland Baptist Church. In addition, he graduated from the Brookland Baptist Bible Institute on June 16, 2011.
Ron most recently served for ten years as the Director of Administration and the Assistant Campus Pastor at the Brookland Baptist Northeast location. He also served as the Director of the Brookland Baptist Northeast Ministry Development Team. As Director, he and the Ministry Development Team designed the strategic organizational plan for the development, implementation and sustaining of ministries at the Brookland Northeast campus.

A visionary and humble man of God, Ron and his wife Sandra currently reside in Chapin, South Carolina. His son Kingston and precious granddaughter Alora Grace, reside in Charlotte, North Carolina, and his daughter Ashlye resides in Columbia, South Carolina, along with his darling grandson EJ.
